Adelaide, Feb 24 - Belong To Me (USA) proved popular at Magic
Millions Adelaide with a filly selling for $150,000 to Darren Ible
Bloodstock.
Lot 457 was offered by Brian Nutt’s Attunga Stud. The filly from At Talaq
mare At The Bay, herself a half-sister to SW Fluoro, is from the family of
Qld Derby winner Toulouse Lautrec.
Magic Millions Adelaide closed with a small gain in average on 2004. A total
of 384 lots sold for an aggregate of $15,365,500, compared with $14,096,000
in 2004, and an average of $40,014, compared with $39,707 in 2004.

Stakes Winner for Belong To Me (USA)
PROVEN Danzig sire Belong To Me recorded his 35th
individual stakes winner when Jack Sullivan (USA) scored a decisive victory
in the G3 Sheikh Maktoum Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Challenge at Nad Al Sheba on
Thursday night.
Stakes-placed twice in Dubai, the well-travelled four-year-old won in England
in November before returning to Dubai for the carnival, finishing third in
the first round of the Maktoum Challenge on January 20.
Belong To Me is consistently among Australia’s leading sires on
winners-to-runners (78.4%), eclipsing sires such as Danehill (75.1%), Zabeel
(71.6%), Red Ransom (67.3%), Encosta de Lago (64.2%) and Flying Spur (60.4%).
The sire of five individual Group One winners, and 73 stakes performers
including 19 in 2004, Belong To Me has a 14 per cent stakes horses-to-runners
ratio.
“The progeny of Belong To Me are performing consistently all over the world
right now, with Binding an exciting prospect for autumn in Australia,” said
Widden’s Antony Thompson.
Binding scored three straight wins including the G2 Sandown Guineas in spring
and the John Hawkes-trained three-year-old earned widespread accolades for
the style in which he won.
Binding is equal second favorite for the Doncaster Hcp (1600m) at Randwick on
March 28 at $8, alongside boom filly Alinghi.
“With Membership winning at Royal Ascot, Jack Sullivan winning in Dubai and
Australian-bred Nothing But Silk winning twice at stakes level in South
Africa, Belong To Me’s results speak for themselves,” said Thompson.
“Belong To Me’s yearlings were sought after at Magic Millions in January and
we are confident he will prove equally popular at Easter,” Thompson added.
Widden’s draft includes a half brother to champion mare Private Steer by
Belong To Me (Lot 591).
Private Steer’s victories included the G1 Doncaster Hcp, the G1 All Aged
Stakes and the G1 Stradbroke Hcp.
Widden will also offer a filly from Group Two winner La Zoffany (Lot 573) by
Belong To Me, while Ashleigh Thoroughbreds has a full-sister to G1 VRC Oaks
winner Bulla Borghese (Lot 485).

winner in Dubai for Belong To Me
DUBAI,
Friday Feb 11 – Belong To Me’s accomplished middle-distance horse Jack
Sullivan won the US$200,000 Group Three Al Maktoum Challenge at Nad
Al Sheba on Thursday night.
Jack Sullivan was second in the G3 UAE Guineas and fourth in the
G2 UAE Derby during the 2004 Carnival, raced in fourth, with the
Godolphin runner Inamorato, the mount of Frankie Dettori, setting the
pace.
Inamorato was still in front coming into the straight but Jack Sullivan,
who is owned by the International Carnival Partnership, was making steady
progress to lead approaching the 400 metres mark.
Jack Sullivan, third in the opening round of the Challenge, was soon
clear and scored by 1-1/4 lengths from Chiquitin.
Trainer Gerard Butler said: “Jack Sullivan had been training well in the
morning and we were confident of a good run. The plan is now to possibly
drop him back to a mile on Super Saturday (March 5) and then aim him for
the Godolphin Mile.”
