Stallions Standing

JEUNE

Lindsay Park in conjunction with Collingrove Stud have announced their decision to re-locate one of Australia's leading sires, JEUNE (GB), to stand at Collingrove Stud in Victoria.

The announcement ends weeks of speculation and debate as to whether or not the top sire would be moved to the larger market of Victoria.

"It was a tough decision and not one made lightly," Lindsay Park Principal David Hayes said.

"It did however become increasingly obvious after Jeune had such a stellar season that moving him to Collingrove was in the best interests of the stallion and his shareholders," Hayes said.

With multiple Group One winners this season headed by dual Group One winner Mummify, Jeune is now firmly entrenched in Australia's top five active sires.

"With six stakes winners combined with his consistency in terms of wins, winners and prize money Jeune is a huge boost to Collingrove's stallion ranks and indeed to Victorian breeding generally," Adam Sangster said.

Jeune moves to Collingrove with the backing of consistently strong books of mares in recent seasons at Lindsay Park. His yearling sale prices have also started to reflect his progenies race track performances with his Adelaide Magic Millions stock selling up to $100,000 and averaging $52,000.

David Hayes is confident that Jeune's move to Victoria will also benefit those breeders that have supported the stallion in the past.

"He will attract greater awareness in the Eastern States and in doing so he will attract better quality mares and more attention at Australia's premier yearling sales," Hayes said.
