The winning and place percentage of a horse is a key figure in separating the chances in any race. A horse with more than 10 starts should really have around a fifty percent places and at least a twenty per cent win ratio. There are exceptions as certain breeds can take a little while to find their feet on a racecourse. ZABEELS are a good example of this and I do allow them more time. I like to look for up and coming three year olds with 6 or 7 starts and one or two wins and a place or two. Then looking at the older horses if they are over six years they cant have had too many starts nothing over 40starts. I dont believe they can sustain form when they have been over raced. Another win percentage to look out for is a liking to a certain track or to a certain distance. The overall win percentage maybe be down but they may have an eighty per cent strike rate at that track or distance.
