The Magic Millions Bundall Sales Complex will be home to over 1800 finely bred yearlings throughout this carnival week. The “world famous” Conrad Jupiters Magic Millions Yearling Sales will be held over eight days, commencing on Thursday 12th January at 11am and continue through to Friday 20th January 2006 .

Eight winners and two placegetters in the last seven days of April underlined again what a prolific source of winners the former dazzling American sprinter Beautiful Crown, a resident at Andrew and Lasca Bowcock's Alanbridge Stud in the Segenhoe Valley near Scone, has become.

At the same time the continued success of this son of noted Danzig racehorse and sire Chief's Crown adds to the appeal of the Hunter Valley Breeders' Yearling sale to be conducted by William Inglis & Son at the Scone sales centre on Sunday, May 22. He has the biggest representation in the 200 lot catalogue, contributing 11 lots including eight from the home stud.

His winners of last week are among over 100 that Beautiful Crown has had in the four crops of racing age he has been responsible for since he was imported by a syndicate headed by the Bowcocks in1998.They have included winners up to Group1 level, progeny successful in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane and Avondale (NZ) , earners of over $2.4 million in 2003-04 and of 90 races and $1.3 million in the current racing through to the end of April.

At the same time he has proved the most reliable source of BOBS bonuses for 2004-05, leading the list with 24 cheques to April. This is another good reason for buyers to look to his yearlings and others in the Scone catalogue as more than half, including all the Beautiful Crowns, are BOBS qualified.

Among the other sires with four or more lots booked into Scone are Armidale (5), King of Kings (Ire) (5), Langfuhr (Can) (6), Magic Albert (8), Mull of Kintyre (USA) (4), Nothin' Leica Dane (4), Reenact (4), Secret Savings (USA) (5), Shovhog (5), Strategic (4) and Way of Light (USA) (4).

Only the Scone yearlings and those set to be offered at the William Inglis Sires' Produce Yearling Sale to be held at the Newmarket Stables, Randwick on Monday, May 16 can qualify for the $200,000 2006 Scone Inglis Challenge for two-year-olds.

The Sires' Produce sale has a catalogue of 206 lots including progeny of Agnes World (USA), Arena, Beautiful Crown (USA), Bite the Bullet (USA), Canny Lad, Carnegie (Ire), Catbird Commands, Danehill Dancer (Ire), Danzero. The bulk of the yearlings offered at both the Sires' Produce and Scone sales can be expected to sell below $20,000 and many under $10,000.

These two sales are among five which William Inglis are to conduct in a space of eight days. The other three are the Autumn Mixed Sale on Friday, May 13; the Australian Select Weanling sale, a collection of 237 lots to be offered at the Newmarket Stables on Sunday, May 15; and the traditional annual Scone Thoroughbred Sale, a line up of mares, their offspring and other horses on Thursday, May 19.

The two Scone sales are highlights of the annual Scone Horse Festival, one which opens on May 6 and concludes on May 22. Two big features of this Festival are the yearling sale and the half million dollar Scone Cup Day race meeting, one set down for Friday, May20.

Weanling Sales

Gold Coast

June 12th 14th

Leading Australian thoroughbred sales company Magic Millions will conduct their best ever National Weanling Sale on the Gold Coast in June.

An integral part of the country's biggest ever catalogue for the Magic Millions National Sale, the weanling sale has attracted an outstanding range of youngsters.

The catalogue comprises of 489 weanlings - to be sold over two days at the record eight day auction. The other six days will offer yearlings and broodmares.

"This year's National Weanling Sale promises to be the best ever conducted by Magic Millions," managing director David Chester said today. "The catalogue assembled by our bloodstock department offers some outstanding opportunities for buyers."

"The sale is proven with racetrack and sale ring stars - for instance a colt purchased last year for $80,000 was reoffered at our January sale earlier in the year and was sold for $620,000."

Plenty of interest will surround the five entries representing the country's hottest sire Redoute's Choice. The three colts and two fillies all have top class pedigrees and they're bound to attract spirited bidding.

First crop sires represented include exciting prospects Bel Esprit, Choisir, Delago Prom, Elusive Quality, Falvelon, Grass Wonder, Johannesburg, Noverre, Planchet, Rock of Gibraltar, Street Cry, Tobougg and Van Nistelrooy.

A selection of the weanlings in the catalogues are from stakes winners including Skating, Grillita, Nanny Maroon, O'Deputy, Ossie Cossie, Feelers, Jevresa, All Classic, Fluoro, Bridie Jo, Centennial, Klokka, Verdict Declared, Let's Hurry, Canon Song, Rock Review, Develan, Smytzer's Rivalry, Pottinger, Once Upon a Crime, Joker's Girl, Coigach and Freedom Fields.
